Officer Jeff Neville Appears in Fenton Parade, Two Weeks After Flint Terror Attack [VIDEO]

Terror attacks leave people fearful, unsettled and on edge. On September 11, 2001, the entire country felt a collective vulnerability as we watched our world instantly change around us. As we see more and more attacks all over the world, is it possible that we’re getting too used to them? I would like to think the answer is no, but that’s me… I’m an optimist.

Whether or not you pay attention to what’s happening in London, Paris, or Manchester, it’s hard to ignore a terror attack in your own back yard. The recent attack at Flint’s Bishop International Airport was less than ten miles from my house, and just about a mile from where I work. Now I could hide out in my basement all the time, and only leave the house to go to work, but that’s not living!

Officer Neville was stabbed in the neck from behind by a terrorist while he was doing his job. There was no warning! Not only is he not hiding in his basement on this Independence day. He’s out in the public eye, right there in front of his community that he loves so much.

It’s because of a fearless Officer Neville, and the many other officers and soldiers all over this country that I do feel safe. No, there are no guarantees in today’s world. But I take great comfort in knowing that Jeff Neville and so many other men and women do everything in their power to protect us and keep us safe. It’s in their nature, it’s who they are, and for that I am eternally grateful!
