PTSD Awareness – How Will You Spread The Word? [VIDEO]

PTSD affects a sad number of military men and women, but it’s also sad how many other people suffer from this life-altering disorder. My dad has had it ever since being almost killed by a drunk driver back in 2008. Because it’s a mental disability, many people don’t realize the deep impact that PTSD has on its victims. Not only does my dad suffer from PTSD, but like so many veterans he also suffers from depression.

It’s a heart-wrenching statistic, but one that needs to be looked at. Every day, 22 veterans commit suicide. That’s 22 veterans too many. My friend Heather was nominated by my other friend Macy Kalb for #22pushups for #22kill. Through this challenge, they and countless others are raising #ptsdawareness because #oneistoomany.

Because of problems with my back, I took this challenge in a different direction. The point is awareness, and that’s my goal… you’re here! Thank you for taking the time! Brave men and women put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms only to get out and feel lost. It’s a shame that so many good veterans feel suicide is the only way out. Take the time to reach out to a veteran you know today. And if you’re a veteran who’s struggling, call 1-800-273-8255.

If you would like to take part in the #22pushups challengs, here are the criteria:
*Once you are nominated your 22 days starts the following day.
*Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Knees, toes, take a break – just get them all done in one video.
*Every day you must nominate a different person, try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability.
