Inside The DeLorean: Behind The Scenes At Chome & Ice [VIDEO]

No one can wait for the ‘Back To The Bricks’ Car Show in August which is why we have Chrome & Ice, the annual indoor car show.

I was granted exclusive access to watch as my favorite vehicle of all-time was driven into the lobby of the Dort Event Center. Watching Doc Brown’s DeLorean time machine drive to it’s spot for the event was mesmerizing. Amber Taylor, the Executive Director of Back to the Bricks, knew I would be geeking out, and I will forever be grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Not only was I invited to watch the famous movie and TV cars get into position in the lobby, I was asked to help with the setup!

I got to wipe down, wax and power up the DeLorean, and I got to help push the General Lee into place. This particular car was the one that made that massive jump in the credit sequence, was totaled on impact, and now there is no engine in it.

The Batmobile from the 1960s TV series was on hand as well. I was able to sit in Adam West’s seat and talk on the Batphone!

We had a fantastic broadcast on 103.9 The Fox. Instead of Sly the Fox and I, we went as Doc Brown and Marty McSly! Spectators and listeners had a blast!

In addition to having the classic television and movie cars in the lobby, they had both arenas filled with classic cars. Nostalgia was running rampant, and smiles were on everyone’s faces! Check out my behind the scenes video. The social media posts are also available: click here for the live video, and click here for the photo gallery!

I’d also like to give props to Amber and the Back to the Bricks team! This one is gonna be hard to top!
